In this article we want to talk about the advantages of using recycled plastic in agriculture.

For more than 30 years, the use of plastic in agriculture and livestock has been known as a very safe and beneficial resource to enhance the growth of the sector.

There is an infinity of plastic equipment for animals, as well as horticulture products. However, after the increasing consumption of plastic, the manufacturers of products for this sector, we have opted for making horticulture utensils made of 100% recycled plastic and 100% recyclable.

Advantages of recycled plastic in agriculture

Plastic is a very valuable raw material, but we must succeed in increasing the recycling of plastic in order to protect the environment and our planet’s climate.

More and more consumers and companies are looking for products made from 100% recycled and recyclable materials. Now, let’s learn about the advantages of using recycled plastic in agriculture:

Reducing environmental pollution

We know that plastic is a polluting material due to its slow degradation, some companies such as Alber Plastics are concerned about giving it a second use. In this way, we avoid environmental pollution with plastic in landfills, as well as seas and oceans.

With the simple gesture of following the line of manufacturing plastic, consuming it, recycling it and returning to the beginning to give it a new life, we manage to reduce the volume of toxics on the planet. In addition, we obtain high quality products.

The idea is not to stop using plastics, but to know how to do it in a responsible way and contribute to the recycling of plastics for the creation of new products for agriculture as in other sectors.

Reduce consumption of fossil fuels

If there were a drop in demand, it would slow down the production of plastics and, consequently, the gases that are expelled in their manufacture. Another advantage would be that we would have to reuse existing plastics.

Horticulture and agricultural plastics can be recycled to generate pots, trays, hangers, outdoor furniture, among others. If reusable, the waste is converted into energy.

The techniques used to generate new products from 100% recycled plastic have a low environmental impact and are very economical and interesting for the entire planet, since no toxic substances are produced.

Reducing the ecological footprint

Using recycled and recyclable horticulture products reduces the ecological footprint of farmers’ activities.

It is clear that plastic packaging for agriculture is essential, but it depends on the union of all to make a responsible consumption. Always choose companies that are committed to recycling plastic for the manufacture of their products, as well as to make an effort to bring the plastic material that we do not use to a recycling point.

Recycled and recyclable plastic horticulture products

The uses of recycled plastic in agriculture are multiple, from greenhouses, plastic tunnels, roofs, irrigation works, reservoirs, among others.

The horticulture products that we make in Alber Plastics come from the yellow containers, which after their use are 100% recyclable. That is to say, they allow a circular recycling process where they are classified, crushed, washed and then melted and transformed into the product we want.

It is of great importance to work with 100% recycled and 100% recyclable horticulture articles, as we will give them many opportunities and contribute to the care of the environment. We are going to give them many opportunities and contribute to protect the environment.

In short, it is up to all of us to make a good management of plastic consumption so that it does not become polluting waste. We hope you have found these advantages of using recycled plastic in agriculture helpful and we do not forget to optimize its usefulness to the maximum.

The agricultural sector is the fifth largest consumer of plastics in Spain.
